the weight of faith
_DSC1259.JPG

On one hand & on the other hand is a series of artwork that examines the question of what saves or justifies humanity. Is it solely faith, faith with work, or work alone? If we do good work, does it mean we are justified? If we just believe, are we justified? These conflicted questions are exhibited through the placing of work gloves. It is written, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1 ) It is also written, “And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. (James 2:22-23)
